How Finn works
Agentic workflows
The jobs Finn does in the background and brings back to you for review.
The best accounting work happens when you're not watching. Finn runs a set of background agents that do the production work and only come to you for the decisions.
The background agents
- Inbound router. Every email, WhatsApp, Slack and Telegram message and every upload is read and routed to the right place.
- Migration brain. Takes an export from any old system, in any shape, and maps it onto your books.
- Categoriser. Categorises every transaction using what it knows about your business.
- Reconciliation agent. Matches bank lines to receipts, invoices and bills in the background, applies the confident matches and queues the rest for you.
- Month-end close. Checks the month, flags anything odd, and you sign it off.
- Year-end accounts. Prepares your accounts from the ledger, using last year's filed figures as comparatives, ready for you or your accountant to approve.
- Practice batch prep. For accountancy firms: prepares VAT returns, year-end accounts and confirmation statements across the whole client book, each marked ready or blocked with the reason.
- Attention engine. Watches every company for what needs a person (a missing statement, an unpaid bill, a deadline coming up) and puts it in your notifications.
- Month-end tips. Picks up to three relevant tax and business plays from the Casebook each month-end.
- Year-on-year analyst. Reviews how this year compares with last year, every week, and records what it finds.
- Scheduled work. Repeat invoices, scheduled client documents, deadline syncs with Companies House.
Exceptions, not busywork
Long jobs run in the background and tell you when they're done, by chat and email. You don't watch a progress bar, and you don't approve a hundred lines one by one. You see the handful that need a human.
Orchestration
- A small model triages and a large model does the work.
- In a practice, Finn works across the client book and hands each client to that client's own Finn, with that client's memory and books.
- In a group, Finn works at group level or company by company.
