Bookkeeping software Belgium: bank feeds, receipts and euros
Finn keeps the books of a Belgian company in euros. Bank statements come in as CSV or PDF, or through the Mercury, Wise, Stripe and Revolut connections, and Finn categorises every line using what it knows about your business. Receipts and supplier invoices can be sent by WhatsApp, email, Telegram or Slack, and Finn reads each one, posts the supplier, date, amount and VAT, and matches it to the bank line for you to review.
Finn holds the enterprise number on each customer and supplier record. It is a 10-digit number starting with 0 or 1 that doubles as the VAT number with a BE prefix, so keeping it on the contact means intra-EU and VIES reporting starts from clean records rather than a clean-up.
10 OctThe Advance corporate tax lands on 10 Oct. Finn has the figures ready from the ledger two weeks before, with the source beside each box.
BTW software and TVA software Belgium: rates, Intervat and deadlines
Belgian VAT has four bands: 21% standard, 12% intermediate, 6% reduced and an exceptional 0% for items such as daily newspapers. Returns are monthly by default, due by the 20th of the following month. Quarterly filing is allowed if turnover is at most €2,500,000 and the business is not mainly selling vehicles, and it is due by the 25th of the month after the quarter.
The summer holiday arrangement was abolished from 2026, so late returns are now treated as late. VIES statements for intra-EU supplies are monthly by the 15th, and Intrastat declarations, where required, are due by the 19th. Finn tracks all of these dates and prepares the VAT position with its workings. You file through Intervat and pay by the same deadline.
FPS Finance compliant accounting: corporate tax and Biztax
The standard corporate income tax rate is 25%. Qualifying small companies pay 20% on the first €100,000 of profit, a saving of up to €5,000. From tax year 2026 at least one director must receive minimum gross annual remuneration of €50,000, raised from €45,000, and benefits in kind cannot exceed 20% of that package. Finn flags the condition so you can check it.
The return is filed electronically through Biztax on MyMinfin, due by the last day of the seventh month after year-end, which is 30 September for December year-ends. Filing by 28 August speeds refunds. A notional interest deduction on new equity is also available, and Finn keeps equity movements visible so your accountant can apply it. Finn prepares the figures and you or your accountant file.
ONSS/RSZ payroll and social contributions
Employee contributions to the ONSS (RSZ in Dutch) are 13.07% of gross salary with no ceiling. Employers pay approximately 27% for white-collar staff, also with no ceiling. From 2026 the basic employer contribution is capped at €85,000 per employee per quarter, which mainly affects high earners. For manual workers, contributions are calculated on 108% of wages and a 10.27% holiday fund contribution applies.
Employers file the DmfA declaration quarterly and pay contributions quarterly. Withholding tax (précompte professionnel, or bedrijfsvoorheffing) is filed monthly and due by the end of the month after payroll. New hires must be notified through DIMONA at least one day before they start. Finn tracks these dates and estimates employer cost, and you or your payroll provider file.
National Bank annual accounts software: BCE/KBO and company forms
The Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (BCE in French, KBO in Dutch) holds the register. The SRL, the default for small businesses, has no minimum share capital but needs a financial plan showing enough start-up equity, and founders remain liable if the assets were insufficient. The SA needs €61,500 fully paid up, and a cooperative (SC) needs three founding members.
Annual accounts are filed with the National Bank of Belgium within 30 days of General Assembly approval. Most companies approve within six or seven months of year-end, and a private limited company has up to 10 months. The filed accounts become public through the Central Balance Sheet Office. Finn tracks the dates and prepares the figures, and you or your accountant file.
Sole traders in Belgium and the VAT franchise scheme
A sole trader registers with the BCE/KBO but has no separate legal entity, so income is taxed personally. The VAT franchise scheme applies if annual turnover does not exceed €25,000, and it is optional, so you can register for VAT below that level. Above €25,000 and up to €27,500 you keep the exemption for the year and lose it from 1 January.
A rise of the threshold to €30,000 was announced in April 2026 but has not been enacted, so Finn uses €25,000 until it is published in the Official Gazette. Finn keeps turnover in your books so you can watch the limit. Personal income tax runs from 25% to 50%, with a basic allowance of €11,180 for 2026.
Yuki alternative, Exact Online alternative and Octopus: switching to Finn
If your books are in Yuki, Exact Online or Octopus, you can move to AccountsOS without starting again. Export your chart of accounts, contacts, invoices and transactions as CSV files and upload them, and Finn maps the columns itself, whatever shape your export takes. You review the result, and your history is in one place from day one.
Nothing locks you in. Keep your Intervat and Biztax access as they are, because filing still happens in those portals. Finn takes over the bookkeeping, the BTW and TVA workings and the deadline tracking, and you or your accountant make the submissions. If you are unsure what to bring across, start with your chart of accounts and the last twelve months of transactions.
