How it works

Switching is the easy part

The thing that keeps most people on Xero is the fear of moving their data. It takes about five minutes.

01

Export one CSV from Xero

Accounting > Reports > Account Transactions > Export as CSV. That's the only file you need.

02

Upload it to AccountsOS

Finn reads the file, maps the columns automatically, creates your contacts and posts everything to your books, including your historical VAT.

03

You're done

Your P&L and Balance Sheet populate, and Finn takes over the day-to-day from there.

Get stuck? We'll do it for you. If your export is awkward, the team is flagged automatically and we'll take the file and import it for you. You don't get left half-migrated.

  • £20/month flat, no per-feature add-ons, no annual price hikes.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I switch from Xero to AccountsOS?

Export your transactions from Xero as a CSV (Accounting > Reports > Account Transactions), sign up for AccountsOS, and upload the file in the Migrate tool. The AI reads the file, maps the columns automatically, creates your contacts, and posts everything to your books. If anything is fiddly, reply to our email with the export attached and we'll import it for you.

Will I lose my financial history moving from Xero?

No. Your transactions, dates, amounts, VAT and contacts come across, and they populate your P&L and Balance Sheet. Bank connections are re-established with your bank's direct feed, which takes a couple of minutes per account.

How much cheaper is AccountsOS than Xero?

AccountsOS is £20/month flat with everything included. Xero is £39/month for the Grow plan most businesses need, rising to £55–70/month once you add multi-currency and more payroll seats. Switching saves £228–600 a year before counting the time AccountsOS gives back by doing the bookkeeping for you.

Does AccountsOS file VAT to HMRC like Xero?

Yes. AccountsOS is connected to HMRC's Making Tax Digital for VAT service in production. The difference is the work: AccountsOS builds your nine-box return from your bookkeeping and you just confirm it, whereas Xero gives you the tools to prepare it yourself.
