What Finn does
The books and the ledger
The double-entry ledger underneath, and the reports built from it.
Under every answer Finn gives is a proper set of books: double-entry, balanced, audit-ready.
The ledger
- Double-entry general ledger, the source of truth for every report
- A chart of accounts set up your way, or your country's standard one
- Manual journals for the adjustments accountants make
- Trial balance at any date
- Multiple currencies
Reports
- Profit and loss
- Balance sheet
- Cash flow forecast, 13 weeks ahead
- Budget against actual
- This year against last year
- Group reports across several companies
- Board packs and custom reports built by Finn, with your branding, shared by private link or downloaded as PDF, Word, Excel or CSV
Month-end
Finn checks the month, flags anything that looks wrong, and you sign it off. A closed month is locked, and can be reopened if you need to.
Year-end
- Year-end accounts prepared from the ledger (UK micro-entity accounts today), using last year's filed accounts as comparatives
- Filed at Companies House from inside AccountsOS, once you or your accountant approve
- Things the business owns, written down over time, with capital allowances worked out
Owner money
- Director's loan account, tracked as you go
- Dividends, checked against reserves, with the paperwork
- Personal tax and a view of your personal finances
