How Finn thinks

Four steps, none of them yours.

The same four steps every time, whatever you send and however you send it.

It reads what you sent

A crumpled receipt photo, a PDF invoice, a bank statement, a spreadsheet. Finn reads the whole thing, not just the bits that happen to sit in the same place every time.

It checks its own reading

Before anything goes into your books, Finn checks the reading makes sense. Bank statements have to add up to the penny. If they do not, nothing is imported.

It decides what it is and who it is from

Receipt, bill, sales invoice, statement, or something else. Finn works out which supplier or customer it belongs to and links it to the right record, using what it already knows about your business.

It files it and tells you

The record is created, matched and stored with the original attached. You get a short message saying what it did. If it needs you, it asks a plain question.

Numbers you can trust

A statement has to prove itself before it touches your books.

Every bank statement Finn reads has to add up. The opening balance plus every line must equal the closing balance, to the penny. Not roughly. Exactly.

If a reading does not add up, Finn reads it again. If it still does not, nothing goes in.

FAQ

The questions people ask first

What can I send?

Receipts, supplier invoices, sales invoices, bank statements, photos, PDFs and spreadsheets. A photo of a paper receipt works, and so does an email you forward on. If it is about your business, throw it at Finn.

Is my data safe?

Your books are private to your company, and access is controlled per company. How that works is set out on the security page.

What if Finn cannot read something?

Finn tells you and asks. A blurry photo or an odd layout gets a question, not a guess. And a bank statement that does not add up to the penny is never imported.

Does it work outside the UK?

Yes. Finn works in 26 countries, with each country's own tax rules. See the full list.

Does it replace my accountant?
