How does AccountsOS connect to Wise Business?
Through a read-only API token you create yourself, in Wise go to Settings > API tokens, generate one, and paste it into AccountsOS. No Open Banking aggregator sits in between. Setup takes a couple of minutes; the full walkthrough is in the setup guide.
Is the connection read-only?
Yes. The token is read-only, AccountsOS can see balances and transactions but can never move your money. It's stored AES-256 encrypted, and you can disconnect it at any time from either Wise or AccountsOS.
Does it reconcile payments against invoices automatically?
Yes. Every sync that brings in new transactions automatically dispatches a reconciliation run. Incoming payments are matched to open invoices and marked paid, spending is matched to receipts and bills, and confident matches post to your ledger. Anything ambiguous waits in a review queue, you only see exceptions.
Which Wise balances sync?
All of them. Every currency balance in your Wise Business account, GBP, EUR, USD and 40+ others, becomes its own bank account in AccountsOS, and currency conversions are recorded correctly on both sides.
Does Wise only work for UK businesses?
No. Wise Business is built for founders trading internationally, and the AccountsOS connection works the same way worldwide, it isn't limited to UK accounts.
Can I ask Finn about my Wise account?
Yes. Ask Finn 'check my bank', 'has the payment from Acme landed?', or 'what's my USD balance?', Finn pulls fresh transactions on demand and reads back the balance your Wise account shows, not an estimate.
How does multi-currency accounting actually work?
Each Wise balance is treated as its own bank account with its own currency. When you convert between balances inside Wise, both sides of the conversion are recorded, so your books always reconcile to the real currency movement, not a single blended GBP figure.
Can AccountsOS pay bills from Wise?
Not yet, the Wise connection is a bank feed: balances and transactions sync in, and Finn reconciles them against your invoices and bills automatically. Outbound payments still happen in Wise itself.
Do I need a specific Wise plan?
You need a Wise Business account to generate an API token. The connection itself is free in AccountsOS, it's included as a connector on every plan.
