Group accounts

Every company you run, one set of numbers.

Each company keeps its own books in its own country. Finn adds them up, takes out what moves between them, and thinks across the whole group when you ask.

Each company on its normal plan. Ask about groups.

Live

In short

AccountsOS group accounts combine every company you run into one consolidated P&L and balance sheet. Each company keeps its own books in its own country (27 live) and currency. Finn maps each company's accounts to group lines, finds the companies that trade with each other, removes intercompany sales, loans and the parent's investment, and converts the result into your reporting currency at monthly average and closing rates. Turn on Whole group in Finn's chat to ask about every company at once; group questions run on Finn's deepest reasoning.

Everything it does

One group, any companies

Pick the companies, mark the parent, set the reporting currency.

  • Add any companies you run in AccountsOS, in any of our 27 countries
  • Mark which company is the parent. It does not have to be the first one you set up
  • Set ownership for each subsidiary, including part-owned ones
  • Choose the currency the group reports in
  • Every company keeps its own books, VAT and filings. Nothing is merged into one ledger

Finn does the mapping

Different countries, different charts of accounts. Finn lines them up.

  • Finn maps every account in every company to a group line, with a confidence score
  • You can change any of Finn's choices, and your choice sticks
  • Finn finds which contacts are really your other companies, and you confirm each one
  • Nothing is treated as intercompany until you confirm it

Intercompany taken out

Money moving between your own companies is not group income.

  • Recharges between companies removed from the group P&L
  • Loans between companies removed from the group balance sheet
  • The parent's investment set against the subsidiary's share capital
  • Anything that does not match on both sides is flagged, with the likely reason, such as VAT one side cannot reclaim
  • Part-owned subsidiaries show the outside shareholders' share

Ask about the whole group

Finn follows the company you pick. One switch takes him group-wide.

  • Turn on Whole group above Finn's chat box
  • Ask across every company: profit, cash, what the parent has put in, who owes what
  • Exchange-rate questions with real rates: what a currency move has cost you, and what an unpaid foreign bill will cost today
  • Finn names the company behind every figure
  • To change anything, you name the company, and Finn still asks you to confirm
  • Group questions run on Finn's deepest reasoning: longer thinking for multi-country, multi-currency work

Real-world Use Cases

A holding company with operating subsidiaries

The parent funds its subsidiaries and recharges central costs. The group report removes the funding and the recharges, and shows what any VAT a subsidiary cannot reclaim on those recharges costs the group.

A fractional CFO with several clients

Run each client's group in AccountsOS, get the consolidated numbers without a spreadsheet, and ask Finn the cross-border questions before the board does.

A UK company with a subsidiary abroad

Each company files in its own country. The group view converts the subsidiary into pounds and shows the currency effect on its own line.

Why founders pick this over the spreadsheet

No consolidation spreadsheet

Each company stays compliant in its own country

Intercompany taken out the same way every month

Cross-border questions answered with real figures and real exchange rates

Frequently Asked Questions

Do my companies share one set of books?

No. Each company keeps its own books in its own country, currency and tax rules, and files on its own. The group report is worked out from those books. Nothing is posted to a group ledger.

Which company is the parent?

Whichever one you mark. It does not need to be the first company you set up, and you can change it any time.

How does Finn know which companies trade with each other?

Finn looks at each company's contacts and suggests which ones are really your other companies. Nothing is treated as intercompany until you confirm it.

What exchange rates do you use?

The P&L is converted at each month's average rate and the balance sheet at the closing rate on the date you choose. The difference is shown on its own line, so the group balance sheet always balances.

What does deeper reasoning mean?

Questions in Whole group mode run on Finn's most capable model, which takes longer to think. That suits questions that cut across countries, currencies and companies. Everyday questions about one company stay fast.

What does it cost?

Each company is on its normal AccountsOS plan. For larger groups, ask us about group pricing.
