Rillet alternative, compared honestly

AccountsOS vs Rillet:
an ERP for finance teams and an AI accountant you can price

Rillet shows up in searches for "rillet alternatives" and "rillet vs Xero", and the two products are aimed at different buyers. This page says who each one is for, what we could verify about Rillet from its own pages, and where AccountsOS is clearly the lesser fit.

Checked on 2 Nov 2026. Every Rillet fact on this page links to its source.

Rillet describes itself as an AI-native ERP for finance teams, with continuous close, multi-entity and intercompany accounting, advanced revenue recognition and an AI agent called Aura. It does not publish a price: it is quote-based and demo-led, with implementations typically taking 4 to 6 weeks. AccountsOS is an AI accountant, Finn, for founders and for accounting practices, with published prices from £10 a month for a sole trader and £20 a month for a limited company, and £12 per live client a month for practices. If you are a finance team that has outgrown QuickBooks and needs revenue recognition across entities, Rillet is the closer fit. If you want an AI accountant for a small company or a practice, with a person signing filings, AccountsOS is.

Rillet suits you if

  • You are a finance team that has outgrown small-business accounting software or is replacing a legacy ERP. Rillet says exactly that on its pricing page.
  • You need advanced revenue recognition, multi-entity accounting with intercompany and multi-currency, and a continuous close.
  • You will go through a demo, a quote and an implementation that typically takes 4 to 6 weeks, with onboarding led by Rillet's team.
  • You want a very wide integration surface. Rillet says it connects to more than 12,000 other apps.

AccountsOS suits you if

  • You are a founder, a limited company or a small group, and want an AI accountant that is live the same day, on a price you can read.
  • You run an accounting practice and want to put your client book on Finn at a stated per-client price, with your team reviewing and signing.
  • You need UK filing: MTD VAT, Companies House accounts and confirmation statements, with a person signing each one.
  • You do not need revenue recognition schedules. We do not offer advanced revenue recognition.

What Rillet is, from its own pages

Rillet's homepage describes it as an AI-native ERP with a continuous close ledger. It lists advanced revenue recognition, multi-entity accounting with multi-currency and intercompany, close checklists, reconciliations and flux drafts that run continuously, and an AI agent, Aura, that acts on the live ledger. It says it is used by 800+ customers in 70+ countries and that it connects to more than 12,000 other apps. The only call to action is to request a demo.

Its pricing and implementation page says it is quote-based, that it does not charge per seat or on revenue, and that price depends on the features you use and your business complexity. It puts typical implementation at 4 to 6 weeks, led by a team that includes CPAs and former auditors. It compares itself with NetSuite, Sage Intacct and Xero and QuickBooks Online, which tells you the buyer it has in mind: a finance team with a controller, not a founder who wants to be done by Friday.

These are Rillet's own claims. We have quoted them as claims and have not tested the product.

Why "Rillet vs QuickBooks" and "Rillet vs Xero" are the wrong frame for most readers

People searching for Rillet vs Xero or Rillet vs QuickBooks are usually asking whether to move off a small-business ledger onto something heavier. That is a real question for a company with recurring revenue contracts, several entities and a controller who closes the books every month. Rillet is built for that jump.

For a sole trader, a limited company or a small group, that jump is unnecessary, and the weeks of implementation and the unpublished price are friction you do not need. The reason people leave Xero or QuickBooks at that size is usually cost and effort, not revenue recognition. That is the job AccountsOS is built for, and we compare ourselves against Xero and QuickBooks directly on their own pages.

If you do need revenue recognition and consolidation, we will say so plainly: look at Rillet, and at the others in this category, before you look at us.

Where Rillet is ahead, plainly

Revenue recognition and close. Rillet lists advanced revenue recognition and a continuous close as core features. AccountsOS does not offer advanced revenue recognition, and its close is aimed at a founder or a practice, not a controller's checklist.

Entities and currencies. Rillet describes multi-entity accounting with intercompany and multi-currency. AccountsOS handles several companies per person and groups of companies, with multi-currency support, but it is not built as a consolidation engine for a large group.

Integrations. Rillet states more than 12,000 integrations. AccountsOS has a focused set: Mercury, Wise, Stripe, Deel, Slack, WhatsApp, Telegram and the HMRC and Companies House connections. Open banking is not live yet.

Hands-on implementation. Rillet provides white-glove onboarding. AccountsOS is self-serve, and Finn does the setup with you in a conversation.

Where AccountsOS is ahead

Price you can read. Our prices are on the pricing page and on this one: £10 a month for a sole trader, £20 a month for a limited company, £12 per live client a month for a practice. Rillet's is a quote.

Speed to start. Sign up, 14 days, no card, live the same day. There is no demo to sit through and no implementation project.

UK filing with a person signing. MTD VAT is filed in product and AccountsOS is on HMRC's list of MTD VAT software. Accounts and confirmation statements are e-filed at Companies House. Rillet's site does not describe tax or statutory filing. The AI does the preparation; you or your accountant review and sign.

Practices. We have a per-client price and a practice desk, with 32 countries live. Rillet does not publish a practice model, as it sells to finance teams. Both of us have MCP servers: ours has read and write, 94 tools, and Rillet's is a remote server that uses OAuth2 or an API key. Its docs do not say whether it can write.

What each one costs, and what we could and could not check

Rillet does not publish prices, so we have not put a number on it. We looked on its homepage, its pricing and implementation page and its docs on the check date. The only honest comparison is what is published on each side.

Moving to or from Rillet

If you are on Rillet today you are probably not our customer, and we would not push you to move. If you are moving down from a mid-market setup to something simpler, export your chart of accounts, contacts and transaction history as CSV. Our importer maps the columns with AI and Finn rebuilds your opening position.

If you are on Xero or QuickBooks and thinking of Rillet, ask yourself first whether the pain is revenue recognition and consolidation, or cost and time. If it is cost and time, you may not need an ERP project. Start a trial with us on a copy of last quarter's data and see how far Finn gets on a bank statement and a pile of receipts.

Either way, never switch in the middle of a filing period. Move at a quarter or year-end boundary.

Questions people ask

How much does Rillet cost?

Rillet does not publish a price. It says pricing is quote-based, depends on the features you use and your business complexity, and has no per-seat or revenue-based charge. AccountsOS publishes its prices: £10 a month for a sole trader and £20 a month for a limited company. Checked on 2 Nov 2026.

What are the best Rillet alternatives?

It depends on size. For a mid-market finance team, other AI-native ERPs such as Campfire are the natural comparison, and we cover Campfire on its own page. For a founder or a small company that needs an AI accountant, AccountsOS is built for that. For the established route, Xero and QuickBooks.

Is Rillet a good fit for a small UK company?

Probably not. Rillet describes itself as for finance teams that have outgrown small-business accounting tools or are replacing a legacy ERP, with implementation typically taking 4 to 6 weeks. A small UK company usually needs VAT, accounts and a clean ledger quickly, which is what AccountsOS is for.

Does Rillet have an MCP server?

Yes. Rillet's docs describe a remote MCP server using OAuth2 or an API key, working with Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients. They do not say whether it can write. AccountsOS has its own MCP server with read and write tools.

Does AccountsOS do revenue recognition like Rillet?

No. Advanced revenue recognition and large-group consolidation are where Rillet is ahead. AccountsOS is built for founders, small groups and practices, and it says so.

Does Rillet file UK taxes?

Rillet's site does not describe tax or statutory filing, so we cannot say. AccountsOS files MTD VAT and Companies House accounts and confirmation statements, with a person reviewing and signing each one.
