The new generation of accounting software
AI-native accounting platforms,
side by side.
Digits, Briefcase, Rillet, Campfire and AccountsOS in one table. Where we are cheaper, where we are not, and which of them works for your country, your size and your accountant.
Checked on 2 Nov 2026. Every competitor cell links to its source.
These platforms all claim an AI-native ledger, but they sell to different people. Digits is US only. Briefcase is UK accounting priced by volume. Rillet and Campfire are demo-led ERPs for finance teams and publish no price. AccountsOS is an AI accountant, Finn, for founders and accounting practices, with published prices from £10 a month (sole trader) and £20 a month (limited company), and £12 per live client a month for practices. A person reviews and signs every filing.
Why people look at AI-native software
Traditional accounting software records what you tell it. You enter, categorise, match and reconcile, and the software stores the result. An AI-native product turns that around: the AI does the production work on a real ledger and brings you the exceptions. You, or your accountant, review and sign.
The label is used loosely, so the useful question is what each product actually does and who it is for. Some are ledgers for US small businesses. Some are capture tools that sit on top of Xero. Some are ERPs for finance teams at fast-growing software companies. A few are for founders and practices who want accounting off their plate.
This table uses the same rows for each, with a link to the vendor page behind every cell. Where a vendor does not state something, the cell says so, rather than guess.

How to choose
You are in the US and want the deepest US ledger. Look at Digits first. It serves US entities only and has bank connections to 12,000+ institutions. It does not file taxes.
You want to keep Xero or QuickBooks and add AI. Briefcase syncs both ways with each, and it has bank feeds and WhatsApp capture. It is priced by volume.
You are a finance team with revenue recognition and consolidation to run. Rillet and Campfire are built for you. Both are demo-led with no published price.
You are a founder or a practice who wants the books done, with a price you can read. That is AccountsOS. Finn prepares, you or your accountant review and sign. We are behind on bank feeds today, because open banking is not live yet, and we say so on every page.
If you are weighing an AI-native product against the incumbents, see Xero, QuickBooks and the rest on the main compare page.
