Campfire alternative, compared honestly
AccountsOS vs Campfire:
an ERP for finance teams and an AI accountant with a price
Searches for Campfire accounting pricing, reviews and alternatives mostly come from people deciding between a heavy finance system and something simpler. This page says what we could verify about Campfire from its own pages, what it costs (which it does not publish), and who should pick which.
Checked on 2 Nov 2026. Every Campfire fact on this page links to its source.
Campfire markets itself as an AI-native ERP: a general ledger with multi-entity consolidation, revenue recognition, close management and an AI assistant called Ember, for finance and accounting teams. It does not publish prices, and its /pricing page returned a 404 on the day we checked. It supports 180+ currencies and unlimited entities, and runs a hosted MCP server with 12 MCP tools. AccountsOS is an AI accountant, Finn, for founders and accounting practices, with published prices from £10 a month for a sole trader and £20 a month for a limited company. Campfire is the stronger fit for a finance team that needs consolidation and revenue recognition. AccountsOS is the better fit for a small company or a practice that wants a price it can read and an AI accountant that prepares filings for a person to sign.
What Campfire is, from its own pages
Campfire's homepage presents an AI-native ERP covering the general ledger, revenue, reporting and close management in one platform. It lists multi-entity consolidation across subsidiaries, revenue recognition for any billing model, close checklists, flux analysis and account reconciliation, real-time dashboards, and 100+ natively built integrations. Its AI is Ember, a chat assistant for accounting questions, plus automation that categorises transactions, reconciles continuously and matches payments to invoices.
It names the industries it sells to: technology and software, real estate and home services, financial services, healthcare, nonprofits and professional services. It lists customers and gives results such as shorter closes, and those are Campfire's own claims, which we have not tested. The only calls to action are a savings calculator and a demo request.
That is a product for a finance team with a controller or an accounting manager, and it is a serious one. It is not shaped like a self-serve tool for a one-person company.
Campfire pricing: what we could and could not find
Campfire does not publish a price list. On 2 Nov 2026 its /pricing page returned a 404, and the homepage offers a calculator and a demo. Third-party review sites describe quote-based pricing that depends on complexity, features and usage. We have not repeated any of those figures, because we cannot tie them to Campfire's own pages, and some of the numbers that appear for "Campfire" online belong to unrelated products with the same name.
So this page does not put a number on Campfire. If you are shortlisting it, ask for a written quote that covers implementation, entities, users and any usage charges, and compare that to the published AccountsOS prices below.
Where Campfire is ahead, plainly
Consolidation and revenue recognition. Campfire lists multi-entity consolidation and revenue recognition for any billing model. AccountsOS handles several companies and groups of companies, but it is not a consolidation engine and it does not offer advanced revenue recognition.
Currencies and controls. Campfire says it supports 180+ currencies, unlimited entities and granular permissions with approval workflows. For a finance team with segregation-of-duties needs, that is a real advantage.
Integrations and bank data. Campfire states 100+ native integrations. AccountsOS has a focused set, and open banking is not live yet. We take bank data by CSV and PDF import, and connect directly to Mercury, Wise and Stripe.
Managed implementation. Campfire has in-house accountants and a demo-led onboarding. AccountsOS is self-serve.

Filing, with a person signing. MTD VAT is filed in product and AccountsOS is on HMRC's list of MTD VAT software. Companies House accounts and confirmation statements are e-filed. Campfire's pages do not describe statutory filing in any country.
Where you talk to it. Finn works in web chat, voice, WhatsApp, Slack, Telegram and email, and we are live in 32 countries. On MCP, both of us have a hosted server. Campfire's has 12 MCP tools, and the ones it lists read data and run reports. Ours has read and write, 94 tools.

Moving to or from Campfire
If you are on Campfire, you are probably running a finance function we are not built for, and we would not push you to move. If you are scaling down, export the chart of accounts, entities, contacts and transactions as CSV. Our importer maps the columns with AI and Finn rebuilds the opening position for you to check.
If you are on Xero or QuickBooks and looking at Campfire, decide first whether your problem is consolidation and revenue recognition, or the cost and effort of keeping books. If it is the second, you may not need an ERP. Start a trial with us on last quarter's bank statement and see how far Finn gets.
Move at a quarter or year-end boundary, and never in the middle of a filing period.
