Quick Answer

Finn, the AI accountant in AccountsOS, is live in ChatGPT. Install Finn from the ChatGPT plugin directory, sign in to AccountsOS once when ChatGPT asks, and ask about your books in plain English: cash, invoices, VAT, and what needs attention before the next deadline. Answers come from your live double-entry ledger. The ChatGPT app is read-only. It cannot post a transaction, raise an invoice, pay a bill or file anything. Filings are prepared in AccountsOS, where a person reviews and signs.

Finn, the AI accountant in AccountsOS, is live in ChatGPT. Install it, sign in to AccountsOS once, and ask about your books in the chat you already use: cash, invoices, VAT, and what needs attention before the next deadline. Answers come from your live ledger. The app is read-only, so nothing changes from ChatGPT. Filings are prepared in AccountsOS, where a person reviews and signs.

If you already work in ChatGPT, you can now ask it about your books and get the answer from your real ledger.

Finn is live in ChatGPT. Install Finn from the ChatGPT plugin directory (open the listing), connect your AccountsOS account, and ask. There is no API key to paste.

What you can ask

Plain questions about your money, for example:

  • Give me a weekly financial health check.
  • What still needs attention before the next deadline?
  • Which customers are overdue, and by how much?
  • Show my 13-week cash-flow forecast.
  • Explain last month's profit and loss.

Finn reads your live double-entry ledger in AccountsOS, so the answer reflects your books as they are now, and every figure traces back to a real entry you can open. That is the difference from uploading a spreadsheet to ChatGPT: an upload is a snapshot that goes stale, and ChatGPT only sees what is in the file.

What it is, and what it is not

It is a read-only way into your books from ChatGPT. Ask about cash, transactions, invoices, bills, VAT and deadlines, and get an answer without exporting anything.

It is not a way to change your accounts or file from ChatGPT. The app cannot post a transaction, raise an invoice, pay a bill or file anything. Changes happen in AccountsOS, where every write Finn proposes asks you to confirm first. VAT returns, annual accounts and anything else that needs a signature are prepared in AccountsOS: Finn does the accounting production work, and a person reviews and signs.

The ChatGPT app reads your AccountsOS books. It does not connect to Xero, QuickBooks or Sage. If you are moving from another ledger, that import happens in AccountsOS, not in ChatGPT.

Who this is for

  • Founders who want a quick read on cash, spend and deadlines in the tool they already have open.
  • Accounting and bookkeeping practices where partners or staff already use ChatGPT and want to ask a client's ledger a question, while the firm keeps review and sign-off. Finn reads the company you have selected in AccountsOS, so switch client there and ask again.

In AccountsOS itself, Finn keeps working continuously across the books. ChatGPT is one more place to ask about them, alongside the Claude plugin, the MCP server and the AccountsOS CLI, which all read the same ledger.

Try it

  1. Open the Finn listing in ChatGPT and install it.
  2. The first time you ask Finn something, ChatGPT asks you to sign in to AccountsOS. Approve the connection once.
  3. Ask about your books.

New to AccountsOS?

Finn does the accounting production work. A person reviews and signs. Now you can ask about the books from ChatGPT too.
