Connect Airwallex

Multi-currency balances and transactions

What gets synced

Settled incoming payments
Settled outgoing payments
Fees that Airwallex lists as their own transactions
Live balance for every currency
Descriptions and references as Airwallex reports them
Settled transactions only, so nothing pending sits in your books
1

Check your role

Only an Owner, Admin or Developer on the Airwallex account can create an API key. If that is not you, ask one of them to follow the next step and send you the client ID and key.

If you have several companies on Airwallex, connect each company to its own AccountsOS company using that company's own key.

2

Create a read-only scoped API key

In the Airwallex web app go to Settings > Developer > API keys and click New scoped API key.

Give it Read access to Balances, Financial Transactions and Global Accounts, and nothing else. This ensures AccountsOS can view your balances and transactions but never move money.

Airwallex shows the API key once. Copy it, and the client ID next to it, before you close the window. If you lose it, create a new key.

3

Paste the credentials in AccountsOS

In AccountsOS, go to Settings > Integrations and click Connect on Airwallex. Paste your client ID and API key as client_id:api_key: the client ID, a colon, then the key.

If one key covers several Airwallex accounts, add the account ID too, as client_id:api_key:account_id.

AccountsOS checks the credentials with Airwallex before it saves anything, then begins syncing. Everything is encrypted before storage.

4

One account per currency

AccountsOS creates a separate bank account for each currency balance in your Airwallex account. For example, if you hold EUR, SGD and USD, you will see three accounts:

Airwallex EUR
Airwallex SGD
Airwallex USD

The first sync brings in up to two years of history. After that the feed syncs every day. Finn categorises everything with tax context.
