Finn tracks your Belgium deadlines

AccountsOS handles tax, filing deadlines and invoicing for Belgium businesses, in plain English. Ask Finn about yours, no signup needed.

Who this applies to

  • VAT-registered businesses that do not qualify for quarterly filing
  • Businesses above €2,500,000 annual turnover excluding VAT
  • Businesses mainly selling vehicles fitted with an engine subject to registration

What to file

The periodic VAT return for the month. Businesses with intra-EU supplies also report them on the VIES statement, which is due by the 15th of the following month for monthly filers.

How to file

Online through Intervat. AccountsOS does not file on Intervat.

Payment due

Payment is due by the same date as the return, to BE41 6792 0036 4210 from 1 May 2026.

Penalties for missing this deadline

A return filed after the statutory deadline is late. The summer holiday arrangement was abolished from 2026. Confirm the current consequences with FPS Finance or your accountant.

Filing checklist

  • Close the month and reconcile sales and purchases
  • Check VAT codes and rates
  • Prepare the VIES statement if you supplied goods or services to EU businesses
  • Submit on Intervat by the 20th
  • Pay the balance by the same date

Documents you'll need

  • Sales and purchase invoices for the month
  • VAT ledger report
  • VIES listing for intra-EU supplies

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Treating the 25th quarterly date as the monthly date
  • Forgetting the VIES statement when supplying to EU businesses
  • Assuming a summer deferral still applies
