The practice desk

Exceptions, not line items. One queue for the whole book.

Finn works every client's books overnight and lands what needs a person in one queue: unplaced transactions, books that do not tie to the statement, months ready to close. The Need a human, Ready to close and Clean counts tell you the state of the whole book at a glance.

How it works

How it works

01

Finn works overnight

Every client's books are categorised, reconciled and checked against the statement while you are away from the desk.

02

The queue names the reason

Open a group and see the client, the reason and the count: unplaced transactions, an unreconciled statement, a month ready to close.

03

Work the group, not the line

A queue group carries a ready-written Finn prompt. Hand it to Finn or work it yourself, whichever is faster for that client.

04

Ask Finn across the book

Ask what needs you this week or which clients are behind on VAT. Finn answers at practice level and drops you into the right client.

  • Finn's overnight note names the clients that need you
  • Need a human, Ready to close and Clean counts at a glance
  • Queue groups carry a ready-written Finn prompt
  • Filter to Mine, All, Unallocated or Archived
  • Drop into any client straight from a queue group

AccountsOS · Exceptions, not line items

The practice desk queue expanded to show the transactions Finn could not place, grouped by client with the number of items

Exceptions, not line items

Each queue group names the client and the reason. Open one and work it, or hand the group to Finn with a prompt already written.

FAQ

The questions accountants ask first

What does Finn actually do overnight, without me?

It categorises new transactions, tries to reconcile them against invoices, bills and documents, and checks whether each client's books tie to the bank statement. Nothing is filed or sent to a client. What it could not resolve lands in the queue with the reason attached.

How is this different from just logging into each client separately?

You are not choosing which client to check. The desk already worked every client and only surfaces the ones with something for you to see, with the specific reason named. A clean client never appears in the queue at all.

Can Finn close a month or file anything from the queue on its own?

No. Finn drafts and flags. Closing a month, filing a return, and confirming a match all wait for you. The queue is where the accountant's judgement gets used, not bypassed.

What if the queue is wrong about something?

Open the item and fix it directly, the same as any other transaction. Finn's suggestion is a starting point, not a decision that already happened.

Does the desk work if I have a mix of Full and Ledger clients?

Yes. The desk shows every client you have access to, filterable by scope, allocation and archive state, regardless of which tier each one is on.
