Standing instructions
Tell Finn a rule once. It runs every time, on every client. It runs every time.
Type a standing instruction the way you'd say it out loud: flag an overdrawn director's loan, chase a client's receipts on a day of the month, never auto-reconcile above an amount. Finn reads it back in plain English before anything runs, and refuses anything it can't do rather than guessing.
Nothing runs until you confirm the reading.

How it works
How it works
Tell Finn the rule
Type it plainly, in Settings, in the chat, or from a queue group's Turn this into a rule chip: 'flag any client whose director's loan goes overdrawn'.
Finn reads it back
One confirmation sentence stating exactly what will happen and to whom. Confirm, change the wording, or cancel.
It runs on its own
A threshold rule checks the same figures the desk already watches. A chase rule fires on the day named. Nothing needs re-telling.
You see every firing
Each rule keeps a log: when it fired, for which client, how many times. Pause or delete it any time.
- Flag a ledger figure crossing a value: an overdrawn director's loan, VAT threshold turnover, cash below an amount, overdue invoices
- Chase a named client for receipts or a statement on a day of the month, on the same chasing schedule the practice already uses
- Guard against auto-reconciling or auto-categorising above an amount, for one client or the whole practice
- Flag when a client's officers, registered office or SIC codes change on the public register
- An unsupported instruction is refused with a plain reason, never approximated into the nearest rule Finn does understand
FAQ
The questions accountants ask first
What if Finn misreads my rule?
It shows you its reading in plain English before anything runs, and nothing runs until you confirm. Change the wording or cancel if it's not quite right.
Can a rule move money or file anything?
No. Rules flag, chase and guard, never file or pay. A confirmation statement, a VAT return, a payment, those stay a person's decision every time.
What can't Finn run yet?
Anything outside four kinds: a ledger threshold, a scheduled chase, a guard on auto-reconcile or auto-categorise, or a register-change flag. Ask for something else and Finn tells you plainly rather than pretending.
Does a rule apply to one client or the whole book?
Either. Say the client's name for one, or leave it general for every client in the practice.
Can I see what a rule has actually done?
Yes. Every firing is logged: when, for which client, and why. Settings › Practice › Rules shows the full history per rule.
