Detailed Explanation
## The rate
Corporate income tax in Egypt is 22.5% of taxable profit under the Income Tax Law 91 of 2005 as amended. Special rates apply to the Central Bank, the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation, the Suez Canal Authority and oil and gas exploration.
## Filing
The return is filed electronically with the Egyptian Tax Authority by 30 April for a 31 December year-end, or within four months of a different year-end. The tax is paid within the legal deadline.
## Small businesses
A business with turnover up to EGP 20 million can join the simplified regime under Law 6 of 2025 and pay a percentage of turnover instead.
## A worked example
EGP 1,000,000 of taxable profit gives EGP 225,000 of corporate tax.
## How AccountsOS helps
Finn estimates the tax from your books, tracks the 30 April date and cites the ETA source. You or your accountant file the return. AccountsOS does not submit to the ETA.
