Can I Claim E-invoicing and POS Provider Costs as a Business Expense in Egypt?
Yes. Fees for the e-invoice and e-receipt tools the ETA requires are business costs.

What Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA) says
E-invoicing has been mandatory for all taxpayers since 15 December 2022, and e-receipts are mandatory in phases. The cost of an ETA-integrated invoicing system, signing tokens or point-of-sale devices relates to the business. AccountsOS does not issue ETA e-invoices or e-receipts, so most businesses pay a provider for this. The e-invoice system covers sales to businesses and the e-receipt system covers sales to final consumers. Which one you need, or both, depends on who your customers are and whether the ETA has named your business in an e-receipt phase.
When you can claim
- ETA-integrated invoicing software
- E-receipt point-of-sale devices and subscriptions
- Electronic signature tokens for e-invoices
- Set-up and integration fees charged by the provider
- Training staff to issue e-invoices and e-receipts
- Repairs to point-of-sale devices
- Receipt printers used at the point of sale
When you cannot claim
- Devices used for a different business
- Fines for issuing invoices outside the ETA system
- Personal phones used to run a point-of-sale app for another business
Good to know
Pro tip: Choose a provider that exports your invoices so Finn can match them to payments. Keep a copy of every e-invoice and e-receipt you issue. They are what the VAT return relies on, and Finn uses them to match customer payments.
Important: Staying in the simplified regime requires using both the e-invoice and e-receipt systems. A device or system the company buys outright is recorded as an asset and written off over time. A monthly subscription is a running cost.
