# What is Tax Registration Number (TRN)?

The number that identifies a taxpayer with the Egyptian Tax Authority, printed on the tax card. ETA documents show it as nine digits.

A new LLC receives its TRN on registration and quotes it on every return and e-invoice.

## How Tax Registration Number (TRN) works in Egypt

The TRN is separate from the Commercial Register number. Users register on the ETA e-services portal and can link an existing TRN to their account. The amended Unified Tax Procedures Law also allows a temporary tax card valid for 8 months.
