# What is E-receipt (ETA)?

The electronic receipt system for sales to final consumers (B2C), linked to point-of-sale devices and made mandatory in phases by ETA decisions.

## Example

A shop named in an ETA phase decision issues every consumer receipt through an ETA-linked point-of-sale system.

## How E-receipt (ETA) works in Egypt

The latest phase found took effect on 15 January 2025 (Decision 455 of 2024). A taxpayer checks whether its registration number is named on the ETA e-receipt inquiry page. AccountsOS does not issue ETA e-receipts.
