# AccountsOS Climbs to #7 in the Atozai AI Accounting World Ranking

AccountsOS is now #7 in the Atozai AI Accounting Software World Ranking, up from #9. The October 2026 edition published on 15 October 2026 and gives AccountsOS an index score of 88.5. Atozai is an independent directory that ranks accounting and finance tools on their AI capability. Our goal is the top spot.

We have moved up two places, from ninth to seventh, in the [Atozai AI Accounting Software World Ranking](https://atozaiaccounting.com/leaderboard?utm_source=accountsos&utm_medium=blog). Seventh is a good place to be. It is not where we intend to stay.

## What the ranking measures

[Atozai (The A to Z of AI Accounting Software)](https://atozaiaccounting.com) publishes the ranking monthly. Each vendor gets a score from 0 to 100, and the board shows the top 50 of the vendors in its report. In Atozai's words, the score blends how mature and central a vendor's AI is, how much of the accounting workflow it covers, how well-evidenced its claims are, its market traction and how deeply the report covers it.

It is a general capability ranking, not a recommendation for any particular business, and Atozai says so on the page. The October edition also unwinds a legacy adjustment from July, which explains some of the movement across the table this month.

Atozai has also added an MCP capability column. It shows whether an AI assistant like Claude or ChatGPT can read from and act inside a product. AccountsOS is listed as **read + write, logged**. The column is for information this month and does not count towards the score until November.

## What got us here

**Finn is always on.** Finn, the AI accountant inside AccountsOS, works in the background around the clock: matching receipts to bank lines, keeping the books current and messaging you when something needs a yes. You can reach Finn in the app, on WhatsApp, email, Telegram and Slack.

**People review and sign.** Finn does the accounting production work. Anything that matters, like a filing, a payment or a dividend, waits for a person to review and sign it in AccountsOS.

**MTD for VAT.** AccountsOS is listed on HMRC's software finder for Making Tax Digital for VAT. Finn prepares the return, and you review and submit it.

**27 countries.** AccountsOS covers 27 countries, so a business or a practice with a mixed book is not stuck with UK-only tools.

**Call Finn by phone.** Since October you can [phone Finn](/blog/call-finn-by-phone) from any phone, key in your PIN and ask about your books out loud.

**Works inside ChatGPT and Claude.** AccountsOS connects to ChatGPT and Claude, so you can ask about your books, or get work done in them, from the assistant you already use. Every AI action is logged.

## What's next: #1

We moved from ninth to seventh in a month, and we are aiming for #1. At the pace we are shipping, we expect to get there within a couple of months. The plan is simple: keep shipping things that genuinely save founders and practices time, keep a person in charge of every sign-off, and show our working.
