When: Quarterly: Q1 by 15 April, Q2 by 15 July, Q3 by 1 December, and no instalment for Q4. Monthly: January to March by 15 April, April to November by the 15th of each month, and December by 1 December.

Advance instalments of Corporate Income Tax for Bulgarian companies, monthly or quarterly depending on net sales revenue. Quarterly payers pay for Q1 and Q2 by the 15th of the following month and for Q3 by 1 December, with no Q4 instalment.

## Who this applies to

- Companies with net sales revenue above €1,533,875.64 in the year before the previous year, who pay monthly
- Companies with net sales between €153,387.57 and €1,533,875.64, who pay quarterly
- Companies formed by conversion, who pay quarterly in the year of conversion and the following year

## What to file

A declaration under Articles 87a and 88 CITA of the type and amount of the advance instalments, filed from 1 March to 15 April. Changes are filed by 15 November. The payments themselves are bank transfers to the NRA.

## How to file

Declare electronically through NRA e-services with a qualified electronic signature. Pay by bank transfer to the NRA account using the payment reference shown in the NRA payment guidance.

## Payment due

Instalments are based on the expected taxable profit for the current year. Quarterly dates are 15 April, 15 July and 1 December. Monthly dates are 15 April for the first three months, the 15th of each month from April to November, and 1 December.

## What happens if you miss it

Late payment is subject to sanction interest under Article 89 CITA. The NRA page does not state the rate. Companies below the exemption threshold are not liable for the interest.

## Submission checklist

- Check net sales revenue for the year before the previous year against the €153,387.56 and €1,533,875.64 thresholds
- Declare the type and amount of instalments between 1 March and 15 April
- Calculate the instalment from expected taxable profit
- Pay by the due date and keep the transfer confirmation
- File a change by 15 November if profit moves sharply

## Documents you need

- Annual accounts for the reference year showing net sales
- Profit forecast for the current year
- Declaration under Articles 87a and 88 CITA
- Bank transfer confirmations for each instalment

## Common mistakes to avoid

- Using the old dates of 15 October and 15 December
- Expecting a Q4 instalment, when none is due
- Forgetting that newly established companies pay no advances in the year of formation and the following year
- Not adjusting the declared amount when profit falls, which should be filed by 15 November
